This beautiful new custom home is actually not on the tour, but you will probably be passing right by it and it's definitely worth seeing! Don't let the fact that it is not on the tour stop you from taking a few minutes to come by, you will be glad that you did! It's almost complete, but there is still time to make a few choices like granite and light fixtures.
Another very high quality custom home built by Medford Construction, there are just too many features to list here.
This home is located in the Foxbury North neighborhood right off of Highway 150, between Kernersville and Oak Ridge. Just look for the balloons, and we will see you this weekend!

Music in the Park in Oak Ridge NC
After Saturday night church at The Summit in Kernersville, I headed out to Oak Ridge arriving at the Shelter #2 at the Town Park just in time for the band to finish up their first set. That gave me a chance to set up my chair, grab a hamburger meal from the concession stand, buy a couple of raffle tickets, and chat with a few friends. After finishing my last bite, the band struck up the music once again. It's dusk but still light enough to capture a sampling of The Grassfields and a close up photo. Here they are.
Wish I would have caught a video of the Orange Blossom Special performed by a young lady whose name is Amanda from WFU and hales from northern Virginia. There were several numbers I felt I should jump to my feet for a little flatfooting. But alas, I would have been the lone ranger. No one was dancing. This is a talented blue grass band.
It's a bit chilly and one finger on each hand is frozen. The chill in the air has just caused people to wrap up and huddle a little closer together. One group brought a portable coffee table with them. They are gathered around it with their favorite beverages and snacks. The kids are walking, kicking a ball, or helping direct traffic. The park is spacious and clean with sidewalks winding through for great walking or biking. And there are very nice ball fields.
I just met reporter Laura Pullins from the Northwest Observer who decided to take my picture. So, you may see me on the Town of Oak Ridge facebook page.
The next Music in the Park event is on June 21 with Robert Tilley and the Hard Times Band. Come on out and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this park and peaceful town.

Community Life and Events in Oak Ridge NC
If you are reading this blog, then you must be thinking about living or locating a business in this peaceful, rural town of Oak Ridge located in northwestern Guilford County, NC. The community used to consist mostly of farmland before many farmers sold their land to developers who built subdivisions of higher end housing. So, since its incorporation in 1998, the town has grown rapidly to over 6,200 residents. Because of the growth, Oak Ridge attracted shopping centers which located around the intersection of Hwy 150 and Hwy 68 near Oak Ridge Military Academy.
If you love horses, then Oak Ridge, NC will be especially appealing to you since raising, breeding, riding, and showing horses is a favorite pastime.
However, this weekend there is a different event scheduled in Oak Ridge Town Park at Shelter #2. It's the Music in the Park event featuring The Grassfields band all the way from Walkertown, NC and it's FREE. So, bring a chair or bring a blanket, grab a pretzel and soft drink at the park, and enjoy connecting with your family, friends, and neighbors this Saturday night (May 17, 2014) at 6:00. The park is located right off Linville Rd. Perhaps I'll see you there. Are you going? Who do know that is going? Reply and let us know. By the way, there is a rain date scheduled for Sunday night, May 18, at 5:00.
Stay tuned for more life and events happening in Oak Ridge, NC from The Fran Johnson Team.

New Construction in Oak Ridge NC
This afternoon I went out to install open house signs to help direct people into Foxbury North neighborhood and to 5411 Red Fox Dr, Oak Ridge, NC. Jerry Medford was on the bobcat grading out the driveway. The house is amazingly clean for a house in this stage of construction. So come on out and take a look on Sunday, May 18 between 2-4. I' ll be able to tell all the amenities planned for this house. If you are interested, this is just the stage that is good to secure it for your own so you can choose your own decor throughout. See you there.
New construction in Foxbury North neighborhood in Oak Ridge, NC started in January of this year. Footings were poured with not much else that could be done in the wake of weeks of snow and rain. Finally, in March the builder caught a break and framing began. Construction is really moving along now!
If you were buying this home, what colors would you decorate it? Stay tuned as we follow 5411 Red Fox Dr in Oak Ridge, NC to completion and if you want to know more now, contact
